Refunds

Due to changing registration and other state-mandated fees, up-to-date refund schedules are contained in the current Schedule of Classes.  For current details regarding the fee amounts, refund policy, and services available please visit: https://accounting.santarosa.edu/student-fees-and-refund-deadline-dates.

It shall be the policy of Sonoma County Junior College District to maintain a current schedule of fees and refunds consistent with State requirements. Permissive and mandatory registration-related fees are so identified in the Schedule of classes each semester, along with a listing of deadlines for refunds.

The District reserves the right to require the students to provide instructional and other materials required for a credit or noncredit course, provided that such materials are of continuing value to a student outside of the classroom setting, and provided that such materials are not solely or exclusively available from the District. A material is not considered to be "solely or exclusively available from the District" if it is provided to the student at the District's actual cost and:

1.     The material is otherwise generally available, but is provided solely or exclusively by the District for health and safety reasons; or

2.     The material is provided in lieu of other generally available but more expensive material that would otherwise be required.

It shall be the policy of the District to withhold registration privileges and certified transcripts and diplomas from any student or former student who is delinquent on any debt due to the College. Applicable debts include, but are not limited to, non-resident tuition, required fees, student loan repayments and unreturned or uncompensated District property.

Tuition or fee waivers shall not be permitted except for exceedingly unusual circumstances. Authority to waiver selected fees or tuition for individual students rests with the Vice President, Business Services (or designee) or with the Director, Admission, Records and Enrollment Development (or designee).

Fee deferments are authorized when deemed necessary by employees of the College who have administrative responsibility for specially funded programs such as the Extended Opportunity Program and Services or through the accounting offices for students who demonstrate financial hardship of a temporary nature.
